January 27, 2013 Wandering part 2
Hanging out at the curly redwood lodge. This motel is made from one redwood tree. It was awesome. Almost as awesome as Rex hanging out with his sock on his head.
Look at that wood...and the lamp.
It was curly redwood
amazing
Truly amazing
Fern canyon. We heard it was amazing, but the road was closed so we walked about two miles to get to the trail head.
The kids were so done by the time we got to the trail head we made it on the actual trail about ten feet. Between the stream and tired kids we were not equip to brave the canyon but we had a fun time.
On our long walk we were singing and the kids were not happy and protested our tunes. We started singing the no, no, no, no, no no no no song. Chloe was mad because she was telling us to stop by saying no and then we told her that she was singing along.
It was was a beautiful day.
and we saw birds. It was a good walk.
Later driving on the 101 we saw these golden bears. We thought it was funny their bums were so apparent in the display.
This is the huge Paul Bunyan and big blue. It was in the book of random things to see on the side of the road Mike got for his birthday a few years ago.
After we saw the redwoods we headed up to Seaside.
We flew kites
Hung out at the beach
Played at the beach.
Took in the beautiful beach
Rex got up from his nap but wasn't quite finished
So, he kept sleeping on the floor.
Playing at the pool
Bouncy house
Dad: Run kids
Chloe: I ran out of fastness. I have to wait for my fastness to come back.
Rex upset Mike was in the water.
Cannon Beach
Making Lighting McQueen
Making the turtle. Chloe drew the face
Our castle
We got to be in Seaside for three days and had so much fun relaxing and spending time as a family. It was a wonderful trip and just what we needed.
We stopped by the Vancouver library on our drive home
Chloe built this hotel
Then renovated
The new ride
The maiden voyage
Mike asked me what time is it? Rex cuts in "It's Christmas time."
