Ireland November 2017

 Day 1:
I'm going to start off by saying if you have red hair, go to Ireland.  It is so green and makes your hair look great.

The plane ride.

Kathy, Julie, Jessica and I headed to Ireland.
Dublin airport.

Sculpture in Belfast.

We started our first night pulling into Northern Ireland having a traditional Irish dinner and being serenaded.  The music was this cute little kid singing with his guitar.  It was so fun.

Day 2
We walked out to the dark hedges.  We came across this creepy house with a creepy gate.

Having so much fun.

It hailed on us when we got to the end of the path.  Then blew over and cleared up.

This tree lined street is just so gorgeous.

Sheep in the field.

The birds

Giant's Causeway

I love basalt columns.

 Scaling the basalt columns.

At then end of the world.

Group shot.

Then it started to hail.

It hailed hard.  I had a jacket my puffy coat and a waterproof jacket and the hail still hurt.  We got drenched.

But then everyone cleared off and it was easy to take pictures with nobody in them.

It was beautiful.  This was definitely a bucket list place for me.

love those columns.

 Carrick-a-Rede Rope bridge.
It was too windy to go out on the island but it was a gorgeous hike out.

The guy that worked there and guarded the bridge so nobody would cross and get hurt took my picture and then we took a selfie.

He told us he was the bridge troll but was nice enough to let us take pictures of his office.

It was just so beautiful.

The wind was blowing so hard it made it hard to breathe.  It was nuts.
After our hike we made it back to the car.  It was cold and we were hungry so we grabbed lunch.  Jessica was so cold she stayed in the car for our walk and lunch.  While having lunch, a fellow traveler went into cardiac arrest right in front of the door.  We were a captive audience to his medical care.  It was tragic and horrible.  As we watched the staff give CPR and defibrillate him we were able to give his family a hug.  Then we were ushered out the back door for the ambulance to administer aid.  Poor jessica was stuck in the car for a while as we were unable to leave.

Day 3:
Self care.

 Our rainy drive was beautiful.

We didn't see what we expected but still found beauty.

We ended up on little dirt roads and didn't find anything we planned.

Rainbow.

The sun peeked through every now and then.

Sheep.

Dingle where we had delicious lunch in a pub. We went into a shop and met Phillip who was a little tipsy wanted to be Kathy's best friend.

We found some beauty and a fun day.
Cool church on the way home.

Day 4:
The next morning we went to Lough Gur, we found a fairy garden.

A fairy house.

More houses.

A gorgeous view.

Julie had an unfortunate slide down the fairy village.

It is hard to see the fairy's in the trees.

This is the largest stone circle.

It has a cool tree.

Jessica lived it up.

I ran around the circle and missed the sign that said keep out.

It was a cool circle of stones.  I cannot imagine constructing such a feat.

I felt like this sign was misleading because it didn't look like that.

New church, but it looked old to me.

The cliffs of Mohr

At first we thought they didn't want us walking through fire, but come to find out they didn't want us in the grass by the ledge.

The view was amazing.

Jessica rocking the wet walk.

The view of the other side.

Jessica had a hard time with the mud and was concentrating a lot.  I was being silly behind her.

Here is the closeup.

Being silly again.  It was such a beautiful area it was hard to not be happy.

Beware of the edge.

Road signs in Ireland.

 Birds at night.

Waterfall on our way home.

Day 5:
The old cool chair in our Air BNB

It is a good trip when you come home with muddy boots.

Our trip ended being smashed on a bus with our luggage in our laps. It was great.
