Ike Kindergarten

Fall

St Martin.  We made lanterns and had an excellent night at Ike's kindergarten with the lantern walk, a reenactment of st. Martin's ride, and bread and kinderwine.

 The view from our house.

Ikes moves.

Mallow roasting with our neighbors.

Rex has no teeth left.

Ike Kindergarten.

We got some quince from Frau Hess.

I made jam.  They have to be cooked to be edible.  They smell amazing but they are a hard food to work with.

T-rex hugs.

First snow day of school of the year.

Thanksgiving

I made a homemade lemon meringue pie.  The filling wasn't that hard to make. I was shocked.

Dri has mickey ears when we talk in this exact spot in her house. I don't think she knows that I took a screen shot, but I hope she doesn't hate me.  It was funny.

Kristy, Aubrey and I were able to sneak out to dinner one night.

 Jump house.

November 2018 Egypt

Giza is HUGE. Egypt was amazing and crazy.  So I took a million photos and put about half up here on the blog. It is different than anywhere else I have ever been.  The middle east is crazy.

Look how small those people are next to the pyramid.

It is almost as tall as the Seattle Space Needle.

They pyramids were built thousands of years ago.  Like 2500 BC. old.  it makes Europe feel young.  How crazy is that?

 Ike and Rex.

Rex and Rex

Mac and Ike

Rex looks like an 8 year old going to kiss someone in this pic.

There are donkeys everywhere.

Sometimes you are an American and people just want to take their picture with you.

Saqqara

This makes me think of the beetles walking.

Scarlett was super jazzed about riding a camel.  It is hard to see little Rex because she was so distraught.

Ike, Mac, and Chloe on a camel.

I was needing a little pick me up.  It made Jennifer super happy to share the love she feel for DDP.

Hungry?

Water tower.

Look at these super cool carvings from the inside of Saqqara.  It was very detailed.  Going in we walked down this little tunnel bent in half we walked down a plank.

Egyptian Museum.

Random person who wanted to take a pic with Chloe.

St. Simon Coptic Orthodox Church – Cairo, Egypt

There was a funeral and they still let us in.

Rock trees.

Hanging Church Of Cairo – Coptic Church Of St. Virgin Mary

I got a little giggle out of crosses and chutes to the underworld.

This church has a basement where Jesus stayed for 3 months on his way back to Israel.

Making papyrus.

Cairo Citadel

 Mosque of Muhammad Ali

 Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan

 Al-Azhar Park

The structures over there "the city of the dead" are built on top of a cemetery with crypts and stretches for 4 miles.

 Sunrise drive to the airport.

The smog makes these pictures look amazing.

Hey look at these people just walking across the freeway.  Regular day in Cairo.

Buddies on the flight home.
