March 23, 2014 Q, baby name, zoo

Looking at baby brother.  I told Chloe I wanted to name the baby Ike.  She told me she didn't like that name and wanted to name the baby Ron.  I was a little freaked out, because that was my grandpa's name.  It was a little doo-do-doo-do.  I left it alone, but she brought it up to dri and tells everyone that I want to name the baby Ike, but she and Rex want to name him Ron.

Mike took the kids bike riding.  He was pushing Rex with a hockey stick.  Rex told me when he would get going too fast he would pull his break.  Mike told me he would be pushing Rex and he would keep pulling the break. It was funny to heat both points of view.

Mike was taking a picture, and Chloe and Rex pulled faces unbeknownst to Mike.  We were home that night and I hear Mike laughing I asked him what was so funny and he showed me the picture and said he had no idea.

The heart attach chloe left me.

Rex didn't want to walk to church. I told him I would carry him, but he wouldn't walk the 10 feet to me so Chloe carried him.

Chloe is getting so good at riding her bike.

March 16, 2014 Zoo, zoo, chicken, dr

The preschool field trip to the zoo

Well child check up, or the chloe has strep throat and we don't know it visit. Whichever name you want.  Chloe got her finger pricked so they could check her iron and thought she was going to die.

Rex got two shots and a finger prick; and just kept bragging about how he has three band-aids.

We went to the pharmacy to get all chloe's meds and she saw these bunnies with wonky bows.  She "fixed" all the bows so they were under their chin.  Luckily she only did the top row, but I could not pull her away until she fixed all of them.

Preschool.  Rex got gold chocolate coins. I put them in time out and then when Rex got up from his nap I couldn't find them. I was looking everywhere.  I tore apart and then picked up my house looking for them.  Two days later Rex runs in saying he found them in Chloe's drawer.
I asked chloe if she knew I was looking for them.  She matter-of-factly responded "yes."  I inquired why she didn't tell me where they were? she said,"I thought it would be fun if we had a pirate treasure hunt and dad could build a box out of wood paint it like a pirate treasure box bury it in the back yard and put an X over it."

 Looking for flooring for dri

One of our chickens was attacked and died this week.  Chloe was distraught and wanted to bury it at the pet cemetery. I told her no.  Then she wanted to bury it in the yard.  I explained that wouldn't be a good idea and we were going to throw it in the trash.  She asked "If we throw her body away will she resurrect?" When I told her yes.  She nonchalantly responded "Well, then that's ok."

 Happy PI day!

 Hanging out with dri.

Chloe had a party so Rex and dri went to yeti yogurt. Rex got gluten free vanilla.  He is so boring.
Today I told Rex if he sucked on the dishes coming out of the dishwasher I had to wash them before we used them and do you know what that little turkey said?
"That's a problem for you!"
You can stay tuned until next week to see if he lived.
To be continued...

March 9, 2014 epic week, bike, frog, rex's birthday

P week at preschool they were pirates and princesses for the pajama party.

Chloe and Rex are pretending to talk on the phone and Rex comes up with his first fictitious name for himself "Hello, I'm Roderick Puzzle."
Hanging out at the zoo.  It is awesome you can see Rex in the reflection of the glass.

Big zoo crew.

This may not seem like a big deal to some, but Rex is very set in his ways.  For years now on the carousel he would only ride the sleigh.  He recently has branched out to the little zebra, well he rode the FROG!  It was cute he kept saying rib-bit the whole time.

This week driving in the car we had a friend, rex and chloe.  Chloe begins, ok I am the mom, Charlotte you are 10, and Rex you're 3.
Rex cheers, "I match"
Chloe then directs, "No rex! You're 1!"
There is a pause and I am thinking how bad is he going to tell her off?  Rex then blurts, "Goo-goo."
Chloe learned to ride her bike this week.

Random thoughts from Rex:  I want to ride in a limousine because they're fun and they're long, long, long cars.
 Rex turned 4.

 Angry bird birthday

Boxes, shrinkidinks, and a hunt for the pig pinata.

 Italian soda afternoon

The kids instead of taking a nap made a parade with the cars.  They even made floats.

Rex wanted an owl jewelry box for his birthday. Unfortunately we couldn't find one with two dancing owls like he dreamed, but this will have to do.

Trying on rex's poncho towel.

After the party Chloe has decided what she is going to do for the next three years for her birthday.
When I'm seven I am going to have a frozen birthday.
When I'm eight I'm going to have a hero birthday.
When I'm nine I am going to have a Jeusus birthday.

Mike asks, "so what do you at a Jesus birthday? Be holy?"
Then I add, "Yeah, do you help others or what?"
Chloe says, "well you do help others and then we'll have a pinata with a cross and Jesus on it; and we'll all get bats and hit it."

Insert awkward silence here.

"Dad, I am frustrated with you for not wiping my bum."

(let's not mention mom stopped wiping his bum almost a year ago, but sometimes there is comfort in getting people to do thing we can do for ourselves.)
