September Turkey 2022

Turkey is amazing.  We went with our besties Natalia and Elena to Explore all over Cappadocia.

Sunrise at our hotel.  This morning we were going to watch the hot air balloons and the sunrise but there was too much wind so they cancelled.

Dinner lady and the tramp style.  Heavy on the tramp.  Looking at you Natalia ;)

These two let us do their hair the same for most of the trip.  It was fabulous.

This is the best video ever.  We were in these caves and they were too short for me.  Everyone else I was with was much shorter, so they just breezed through.  You find out who your real friends are when every step you take you hit your back on the ceiling and half to duck walk and they just laugh at you.  The best part is you can hear Erkan in the back telling everyone they are horrible and is truly worried for me.

This is just the part of them laughing at me.

The fairy chimneys are a rare formation known in this area.  We mocked IG influencers and then had people copy us.  we could not stop laughing.

Ozgul told our fortunes and a good time.

We went to this pottery shop Chloe was in love with this tiger it was above her pay grade but she reallllllly wanted it.

People build defendable places because there was so much fighting throughout the years. They also made caves for people to escape and hide until danger passed.

Elena and Chloe got into the posing.  It was extra wonderful.

Erkan knew the kids loved climbing and found all the cool places for us to go.

Horse back riding.

The Rose Valley

Erkan helped us find fresh squeezed juice.  YUM.

Pigeon houses.

So many hot air balloon pictures.  I couldn't help myself it was beyond beautiful.  We started at 4:30 picked everyone up and went to the field ready for sunrise and our balloon to rise.

Rug shopping.  We saw how they were made and Natalia ended up walking away with one.

This is the largest hand made rug in the world.  As it goes up the wall it changes color because depending on how the light looks it changes shade it is so mesmerizing.

Ihlara Valley we explored the cave city of Kaymakli and saw secret ancient cave churches.

The early Christians' build cave churches to worship in peace.

These cute little mummies.

You know they are besties when they can curl up and sleep all over each other.
