January 29, 2015 Hawaii

THIS IS A WARNING:
We had a super fun time.  We took a lot of pictures.  Most of which were selfies.  We didn't have a selfie stick so they look like selfies.  But we were having fun.  There are many pictures that are almost identical, but they were cute and I couldn't choose.  As a result, there are a plethora of picture; too many.  If you don't like it stop here or scroll through quickly, but we had FUN!

This is the enormous snail we found one morning at our hotel.

This is the tiny frog we found one day at our hotel in the pool.

First beach trip.

Ike and I hung out on the beach while the big little people played in the water.

Rex chucking sand in an artistic light.

Dole plantation pineapple express.

The grounds at the dole plantation are super pretty.

Chloe has sass.

Matsumoto shaved ice.

Polynesian Cultural Center:
By all the tiki's I tried to get the kids to be fierce.

 Boat show.

Fierce fail.

Fierce win.

Paddling the boat.

Making grass fish

Learning to hula

Poi balls...Chex style.

Fierce-ish

Coconut.  We saw the show in Samoa where they climb the trees and pick the coconuts.  Rex was enthralled and  LOVES coconut.  He wanted to keep one.

So we bought one.  The kids wanted two big ones.  I got one small one.

 The first try

 They react

 and react

 and react

and react.

So the good parents we are we at as much of our coconut that we could.

wild pig

Pali look out.  We got there at sunset and it was BEAUTIFUL.  We were driving down the road and we saw a lookout. I mentioned we were recommended a lookout that was super beautiful, but we passed that one.  The next one was the lookout mentioned, and it didn't disappoint.

Matsumoto shaved ice take two.

While enjoying our treat Mike pointed out whales breaching in the distance.  It was so cool.  They were HUGE.

Waimea Valley.  Botanical gardens and waterfall.

The gardens were pretty.

The waterfall was cool too.

The kids were super excited about an "Ike"sign.

Swimming with Dad is super fun.

My birthday ice-cream

USS Utah.  Sunk.  We were looking at it, and we ran into some people that told us about a short walk to the USS Arizona.

Walk to the USS Arizona.

It was super close and a beautiful time of day.

The kids loved these red headed birds.

We swam a lot.

Trying to go to Pearl Harbor.  They ran out of tickets to go out to the monument.  But Ike drew a crowd and stole the show.

Then it started pouring.

We failed on going to Pearl Harbor, so we tried to go to the Byodo-in Temple.  We got there just as it closed so we gave up and got...

Gelato, which is awesome!

Ike wasn't pleased to be left out of the enjoyment.

The morning was glorious.

We pet the dolphins

We pet real dolphins.

Rex, talking about petting the dolphins said "That was better than eating treats all day."  The highest praise possible in Rexland.

Sea turtles.

It rained after we got out from the dolphins.  We all look like drowned rats.

Sea Lions

Chloe love
love
love
 love
 love
 love
 loved the dolphins.

 Sting rays

high kick...turtles in a half shell.  Turtle power.

 Byodo-in Temple

Pearl Harbor

The USS Arizona is still leaking oil.  It is a little disturbing.

The wall of names.

That is one big anchor, from the USS Arizona.

Say what you will the military ships are impressive.

That smile.  Ike and I did more selfies at the beach while...

Kayaking happened.

This is the only age where your pants fit your head and your tummy.

Flying home Chloe was watching a cartoon.  Rex wasn't listening he was just watching.  There was a scary part and Chloe released a bloodcurdling scream. I saw the girl on the row in-front of us literally jumped out of her seat.  Then Rex started in. It was the worst.  Other then the scream and Ike being a little fussy on the way home, taking three kids to and from Hawaii wasn't bad.
