France- August 24, 2015

Monday August 24th:
When we were driving to France it took us twice as long as we anticipated and the GPS took us on a dirt road.

We crossed from Germany to France on a dirt road.

With no cell signal we were super pleased to see pavement again.

Lindsey busted out her French speaking skills and ordered us lunch.  French fries, quiche, and this sandwich thing that was like a pizza with alfredo sauce bacon and cheese.  It was all good.  We were starving and ate it all too.

 Château de Fleckenstein.

This is the castle Frankenstein was modeled after.

It was constructed originally in mid-evil times.  So we got into the spirit.

 So pretty.

Then rainy and pretty.

The Alsace region is so beautiful.

  Riquewhir (Alsace)

Riquewhir is a wine village that was so pretty.  It is amazing a family can make a living of 2 1/2 acres of grapes.

We took a train ride around and got to see the village.

Crapes.

 YUMMY!

 Fountains

 Cool streets.

Tiny alleys

 Beautiful buildings.

 Clock tower.

 Odd murals on houses.

 Second clock tower.

 Second fountain.

I loved that blue house.

The doors.  There were so many cool doors.  I was in love with all the diamond shapes.
