July 3, 2011

I asked Chloé how her pony got such beautiful hair.  (I don't know if the picture does the mane braid justice.  It is like a french up braid.)  Chloé told me our special forces friend Jesse did it =).

Mike woke up this week to find Rex's toothbrush with his other favorite brush. SICK!

These are the newest Johnson additions:  Rain, Lightning and Thunder.  Rain is the snail(on the left) then Lightning is the white goldfish and Thunder is the black goldfish.  Chloé picked them and as we were trying to name them they started as sign, tree and bag.  (the first three things she saw)  Then it was decided they needed swimming names.  Mike suggested Gill.  Chloé said "that's not a fishy name."   Then she decided Rain, Lightning and Thunder were fishy names. Both kids have LOVED the fish.

If you look closely in the background you can see the repaired swing set.  While we were making the sandbox mike was talking about not wanting it to be the neighborhood litter box.  Chloé chimes in "I want the cats to poop in the sandbox the lord made them that way, Daddy!"

Chloé and her favorite kidney shape sandbox. She starts clothed and then...

Her clothing gets dirty and she must disrobe.

Then she ends up "swimming" in the sand, and putting sand on her tummy (in her backward underwear and the crown, of course.) She is in LOVE with the sandbox.  While I was filling the kidney up she comes over and puts her hand on my shoulder and says "THANKYOU Mommy! We love our sandbox you are doing a good job."  She went on like that for a long, long time.  At least she loves it because Rex...HATES IT.

After the sandbox she helps her self to run around the yard in her underwear.

At least our yard is covered with trees.

WARNING: Chloé has been telling some disturbing stories lately.  Don't say I didn't warn you. One was a few weeks ago Chloé was playing with two bouncy balls.  She starts talking sternly to the one bouncy ball saying "You must bounce you are a bouncy ball, it is what you were meant to do."  Then in another higher voice she says "But I don't want to."  Then she threw the ball in the corner and says "Damaged baby" in an extremely gruff voice.  Then starts to call the bouncy ball Damaged baby.  Yikes! where does she come up with this stuff?

Later, we were driving and she saw a horse.  Chloé started going off about how good horses have saddles and bad horses don't so you can ride the good horses.

Rex, this look sums up his attitude this week.

He has been grabbing his hat and having anyone put it on.  He got is T-rex rain jacket and had Mike put it on.  He ran around for a long time despite the warm weather.  The shades are a nice touch.

The hat, and the beloved Custard.

Could you just die for this yard?  It is JULY Mike is out on the grass reading to Chloé and pushing Rex. I don't think it gets any better than that.

We got these cool lights for our living room.  We are starting to get things put away.

I must shake my fist at Marjie's kids.  For the past few weeks I have had: how do you wake up lady gaga? Poke her face.  I have had that joke stuck in my head =)

Charlie and Nedra were supposed to come visit this week, but Nedra's neck go HURT.  So they have to postpone their visit.  We were telling Chloé how Grandma got hurt and so they wouldn't be coming.  She was quiet for a second and then said "Well Grandpa can still come, he didn't get hurt."

  1. Oh that post made me laugh. Jesse didn't know that braiding the ponies hair would bring him such fame. Hehe and how are we ever supposed to go to the beach if Rex hates the sand? Oh and I finally beat Jesse in qwirkle and he is pouting like a little kid.
